PreMarriage Workshops
The PreMarriage Workshop is offered three times a year and explores everyday relationship experiences from a biblical perspective in a fun, authentic environment. You’ll engage in honest conversations that help strengthen connection, understanding, and communication as a couple.
No matter where you are in your relationship, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your significant other. You’ll also connect with other couples in a similar life stage and realize, “So, you feel that way too.”
Our goal isn’t to have you sit through lecture-style sessions, but to create meaningful conversation, interaction, and experiential learning that gives you practical takeaways for your journey together.
Favorite topics include Financial Stewardship, Communication, and Family of Origin. If you’re seriously dating or engaged, we encourage you to add this workshop to your relationship checklist.

Engaged couples are encouraged to connect with a Premarriage Mentor Couple for 4-6 sessions following the Premarriage Workshop. “Preparing for Marriage” by Family Life is the curriculum guide. This opportunity provides more individualized counsel beyond the group dynamic of the workshop. Couples are directed to complete the Prepare-Enrich online Assessment Survey as part of the mentoring process.
Several of our pastors officiate weddings and provide limited counsel as officiants. Our officiants encourage couples to attend our Workshops and Premarriage Mentoring as part of their marriage preparation. Pastoral honorarium is $500. Do you and your spouse have a heart for marriage? Consider investing your marriage experience and passion for serving others to mentor engaged couples on their journey to a healthy, lifelong relationship. You will guide couples through a curriculum designed to equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to experience a healthy, Christ-centered marriage. Our mentors also participate in our 2-day Workshops and provide limited support to seriously dating couples.
Because of the nature of this volunteer position, an application, background check, and interview are required. You must also be a NorthRidge member or actively pursuing membership.
Workshop Schedule: Calendar Based
Time Commitment: Two-day event, offered various times yearly
Mentoring Support: Based on volunteer availability
Time Commitment: 4-6 sessions
