Baptism

Baptism at Northridge

What is Baptism?

Baptism is an outward expression of an inward decision — a public demonstration of our faith in Jesus and the first step the Bible outlines for every Christ follower after trusting in Him. Baptism does not make you a “believer,” nor does it “save” you. Rather, it shows that you have placed your faith in God’s only Son, Jesus, and symbolizes the commitment you have made in your heart.

“For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.” Romans 6:4

Baptism Class for Children

Starting Point for Kids

Is your child in 3-5 grade? Start here! It’s exciting your child wants to be baptized. It is important that they understand the significance of baptism, so we require they complete our 5-week Starting Point for Kids class before applying for baptism. Does your child need to attend the class? Call 734.233.3642 for details. (If your child has taken Starting Point for Kids, provide the completion date during the registration process.)

Child Dedication – Child dedication gives parents the opportunity to publicly declare their promise to raise their children in a God-honoring way, preparing them to one day choose to continue that relationship with God on their own.
