You Are My God
2 Corinthians 12:9 - "But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me."
Prayer: Father, I need Your power in my life. I always try to do things in my own strength and power, but it isn't working, and I am tired. Help me to see that my failures and weaknesses are not what defines me, but Lord, You work despite my failures and through my weaknesses. So, God, I commit this week to living in Your power and not in my own.
Matthew 19:26 - Jesus looked at them and said,' "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'"
Prayer: God, there is no limit with you! I'm humbled to know that You are in full control of my life, and I'm grateful that I don't have to be. I'm trusting You today, and I know that in Your power and strength, You are walking with me to give me the same -- to take on all that's required of me. I'm nothing without You. I love You! Amen.
Jeremiah 32:17 - "Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you."
Prayer: There is nothing too hard for You, God. You hold all of heaven and earth in Your hands. You are greater than any trial or hardship I could face. Help me never lose perspective of how great and powerful You are and not get wrapped up in the small trivial things of this life.
Mark 9:23 - "'If you can'? said Jesus. 'Everything is possible for him who believes."
Prayer: Father, remind me of Your power when my circumstances overwhelm me, and I feel powerless. I know that You are the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Nothing is too difficult or impossible for You to accomplish. It's my faith that tends to waiver. I no longer want to view my situations through the lens of my ability but instead through Your power and promises. My circumstances don't define who You are, but they can define me. Please strengthen my faith as I lean on You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Mark 14:36 - "'Abba, Father,' he said, 'everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.'"
Prayer: Heavenly Father, my Abba, You are all-powerful. You created the heavens and the earth. Nothing is too difficult for You. I know that You can take the struggles that I am going through and change them with just a thought. I believe that You can and pray that You would; however, I trust You enough that if that is not Your will, Your plan for me is much better than mine. I surrender to Your will for my life. You are so good to me! In Jesus' name, Amen.
I John 4:4 - "You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world."
Prayer: Father, Thank You for the all-important reminder of the power of Christ, who lives in me and through me. I know His power is greater than the power of the world and anything that might come up against me. I pray that today I will not be persuaded to think that there is any evil I should fear being overcome by, but rather trust the Lord and His Word. I want to walk today in the boldness of Your power.
Romans 1:20 - "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities -- his eternal power and divine nature-- have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made…"
Prayer: Jesus, day after day Your creation, in all of its beauty and splendor, shouts of Your power, glory, and majesty! The vastness of Your creation reminds me how small I am and how great You are! I see Your fingerprints on the big and small everywhere I go. I have no doubt You exist, and Your creation proves it. There is no excuse not to believe in You. My only rational response is to worship You, Almighty God. Thank You for creating me, loving me, saving me, and giving me a beautiful world to live in.
Matthew 19:26 - 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God."
Prayer: God, You are so good! But this is also a huge challenge for me today. I know that I am not always living a life marked by the comfort that You give - too many times, I am living out of the comfort that I'm trying to provide. I am so grateful that You don't just know my troubles; You care about them. Help me to remember the compassion that You show me and to be a reflection of that same compassion to those I encounter today!
1 John 4:10 - "This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins."
Prayer: Father God, I am overwhelmed when I think about the love that You poured out for my life. I am overwhelmed knowing that Jesus went to the cross because of my sin. This love leaves me in awe and wonder of how amazing You are. Forgive me when I take Your love for granted, and I act as if I deserve it. To the best of my ability, I accept Your love and commit to living in Your love today.
Ephesians 5:2 - "and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."
Prayer: God, I never want to make light of Your love. Your love took You to the cross, as a living sacrifice, it brought You back from death, and Your love continues to go with me wherever I am. Your love has changed everything about me. Thank You for giving it in its fullness--despite my failures. I'll walk in Your love today with gratitude and obedience. Amen.
I John 4:7-8 - "Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for Your unending love and grace in my life. Your love for me is constant no matter how many times I fail and fall short. Because of the way You love me, my only response should be to extend love to those around me. Help the people in my life see Your love at work in and through me. Help me draw others near to You through the love that I give.
1 John 3:1a - "See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!"
Prayer: Father, God, thank you for loving me. That you would sacrifice Your Son… for me, pour out your love… on me, and call me Your child is difficult for me to grasp. Who am I that the King of the Universe would love me in this way? That thought is beyond my ability to fully comprehend. I am so grateful for Your unwavering love.
Matthew 22:37-38 - "Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment."
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I praise You this day that You are love! That you first loved me with an unconditional love is more than I can comprehend. Please remind me of this love daily so that my heart is ready to receive it. Help me to love you with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength! Please help me recognize the opportunities I have each day to share that love with those around me. Thank You for loving me! In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Psalm 36:7 - "How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings."
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I'm grateful as I start this day that you truly do offer an unfailing love. It's hard for me to even grasp that because my entire life has been immersed in conditional love and less than perfect love. But in You, I find the refuge and protection of unfailing love. No matter what I go through or how I may fall down, I'm reminded that You are with me and cover me.
Psalm 118:6 - "The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"
Prayer: Jesus, even though life is pressing down on me and my future seems uncertain, I don't need to worry because You are with me. You will take care of me even if others mean me harm. Help me to rest in Your presence and Your plan with calm assurance. I trust that You will work everything out for good according to Your will.
Psalm 46:1-2 - "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear,"
Prayer: God, there is trouble all around. I know I don't need to be overwhelmed by it. I know I don't need to be fearful of it. I know that You are here, and I know that You desire to help me. So, this is me coming to You as my refuge and strength. I don't have it within me to overcome what will come my way, but You are with me - and that is more than enough!
Deuteronomy 31:8 - "It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed."
Prayer: Father, I admit that I forget the promise that You will not leave or forsake me, and it is why I'm so often fearful. Lord, fill me with faith to trust this promise. Show Yourself to me in ways that remind me that You are with me. Fill me with Your peace, so I know that I am not alone. I praise You for not giving up on me.
Philippians 4:6-7 - "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Prayer: Father, I pray that the stress I am managing today will lead me straight to Your feet. With every angst, I ask that You remind me of Your love, and with every ache, remind me of Your presence. You are my Hope and my companion today. I love You. Amen.
Romans 8:38-39 - "For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Prayer: Thank you, Father, that You are not distant or far off. I know no matter what I face or encounter in this life that You are near. You are my ever-present source of comfort and peace.
Psalm 139:7-8 - "Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there."
Prayer: There is no place I can go from Your Presence, God. If I'm on a spiritual mountain top, You are there! If I have sinned and want to hide, You see me. Whatever situation I'm in, I'm in it with You. What other expression of gratitude can I possibly give, except to bow before You this morning with a heart overflowing with thanks and praise for Your faithfulness to me.
Revelation 3:20 - "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me."
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I praise and thank You for seeking after me so that I could know You. Thank You for knocking on the door of my life, allowing me the opportunity to experience Your presence. I love the time I get to spend each day with You and that You are always with me! You have changed my life in so many beautiful ways. I can never thank You enough! Today remind me that You are knocking on the door of every person's life and help me to be an encouragement to anyone You bring me by sharing the truth that I have come to know. I pray that they, too, will experience Your presence that will change their life and their eternity. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
John 10:27-28a - "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish."
Prayer: Father God, You are the faithful shepherd. Thank you for forgiving me of all my sins and giving me the promise of eternal life through Your son Jesus. You are the Good Shepherd who cared so much about me that You pursued me with Your faithful love and grace. Today my heart is full of gratitude that even when I haven't been faithful, You have always been faithful to me.
1 Corinthians 1:9 - "God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."
Prayer: Father, I praise You! Faithful is who You are! Even when I choose to walk away from You, You are faithful to chase me down, forgive me, save me and restore me into Your family. I often look away from You, searching for what pleases me, yet still, You are faithful to me. Every time I come back to You, You are faithfully waiting with open arms to forgive me. Thank You Lord, that my life is not determined by my failures but by Your great faithfulness to carry me all the way to heaven.
Deuteronomy 7:9 - "Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments."
Prayer: Thank goodness that You are not like me, God! I know there are too many times to count that I have failed, that I have not been faithful - whether to You or others. Thank You for being the faithful God, the One that I can count on to keep promises and covenants. As I live my life today, remind me of the ways that You have been faithful to me in the past, and bring to my mind the ways that You are proving faithful to me right now. Help me become more like You today!
1 Corinthians 10:13 - "No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
Prayer: Father, I praise You for Your power in my life. I know in my strength, I cannot withstand the temptations this world puts before me. However, with Your power, I can. I can resist sinful temptations. I can resist selfish desires. I can stand firm against whatever the day may throw at me because I am resting in Your power! Thank You for being faithful to me!
James 4:8 - "Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded."
Prayer: God, You don't require perfection from me; You require participation -- an emptying of self and a confession of sin. Your faithfulness to me is the beginning and foundation of my life -- as You lean in, Your presence changes who I am. Thank You for being faithful, even when I'm not. I love You. Amen.
John 10:10 - "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."
Prayer: God, You are my source of life! I pray that I would trust Your plan for my life of overflowing joy and peace today. That no matter what the enemy tries to throw my way or distract me with, I would look to You and remind myself of Your faithfulness.
Proverbs 3:5-6 - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
Prayer: God, forgive me when I lower You to human standards. I’ve been hurt countless times by those I trusted. It’s left me cynical and jaded. And because of that, I transfer those human experiences to You, even though I know You are faithful. Help me forgive those who have disappointed me, and remind me of this verse when I waiver and doubt Your faithfulness. I know You have a perfect plan for me… and that You go before me. I have nothing to fear. This morning I offer You all of my heart, all my trust, as I follow You.
Romans 8:15 - "The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."
Prayer: Our Heavenly Abba Father, I am so thankful today to be called Your child. Thank You for adopting me and for being such a great Father. Thank You for the relationship we have and the freedom that it brings me. I'm not a slave; I'm a child of God living in freedom, not fear! There is no one like You, and no other relationship I have compares to what we have. I cry out in praise to You, my Abba Father, grateful to be Your child!
James 2:23 - "And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness," and he was called God's Friend."
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I will confess that at times it's hard to imagine being Your Friend, but today I celebrate that You are a relational God. That friendship with You is available to those who trust in You and, in faith, obey the Father who loves us. Even though I sometimes doubt, I pray that today You will fill me with the same faith that Abraham had. A faith that allows us to venture into the unknown and scary with nothing but trust and faith in You. For You are worthy of my trust.
Philippians 3:8,10 - "...I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him... I want to know Christ..."
Prayer: Jesus, nothing is better than knowing You. Forgive me when I live below the intimacy I can have with You. Give me a sense of urgency and passion to pursue You more. Show me the things I need to let go of that are hindering my walk with You. Reveal Yourself more fully to me when I pray and read Your Word. Jesus, I want to make knowing You my life-long pursuit, but I realize that is impossible apart from You. So, give me Your grace and strength for this journey. When all is said and done, may my life be found in You.
John 15:13-15 - "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for every-thing that I learned from my Father I have made known to you."
Prayer: What an amazing thing, that I am a friend of God! That is a thought that I can't even fully comprehend, but it is still true! To think that I didn't even achieve this or earn this, that You desire this relationship with me so much that You sacrificed Yourself for us to have it! God, I don't deserve this, but it is who I am. So, I want to commit today to live my life focused on Your business, not my own. Whatever You have for me today - I know it is for my good and Your glory!
1 Peter 5:6-7 - "Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you."
Prayer: Father, You see me, and You care for me. You do not dismiss the worries and the stresses of my life, but You invite me to draw near to You. Thank You for this invitation. In Your love for me, You desire that I lay all of this at Your feet. So today, I surrender my fears, worries, stress, and doubt to You. Thank You for caring for my soul.
John 1:12 - "Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God--"

Jeremiah 29:11-13 – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
Prayer: Father, I thank You for being close to me. I praise You for listening to me and for hearing me when I call out to You. Father, in this season of my life, I need Your presence more than ever. I need Your voice to bring me comfort. I need Your words to give me wisdom. I need Your truth to give me direction. I need You for hope. I simply need You. Thank you for being so good to me.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, Thank you for the privilege of calling to You in prayer. It changes my life each day, knowing that I CAN call upon You and that You ARE listening. Your answers to my prayers and Your word not only give me insight into who You are but guide me to experience Your presence in my life. Help me to experience these great and unsearchable things about You that I never knew today. In Jesus Name, I call to You, Amen.
John 10:27 - "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me."
Prayer: Heavenly Father, You truly are the Good Shepherd. As I enter into this time of prayer with You, I’m reminded just how much I need to listen to Your voice. I’m grateful for Your Word, which instructs me on how to live and at the same time reminds me of Your grace when I get it all wrong. Give me the courage today to be obedient to You and follow Your call on my life.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 - "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
Prayer: Father, I cannot thank You enough for Your Word that is all-sufficient for everything I need. Your Word is my salvation and food for my soul. When I am tempted to sin, Your Word is my weapon in spiritual warfare. Your God-breathed scriptures teach me, correct me, and equip me to carry out Your work. Lord, where would I be without Your Word? May I hide Your Word in my heart and never take it for granted.
John 16:12-13 - “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come."
Prayer: Out of all the gifts You have given us, God, the constant presence and indwelling of your Spirit is perhaps the most incredible! That You are always with us, guiding us into truth and wisdom, is such a humbling thought. I know there are so many times that I choose to “go it alone” with my own thoughts and priorities. Thank You for the reminder today that I always have You to guide me and lead me into what is true, what You have spoken!
1 Thessalonians 5:17 - "Pray continually."
Prayer: Father, I thank You for this invitation to speak to You anytime and all the time. Thank You for the invitation, to be honest and real with You in my prayers. Thank You for being available to hear my cries even when there is anger. Thank You for being willing to listen to my pain and struggle even when there is blame and resentment. You are a good Father who cares about me and longs for me to turn to You. I praise You, God, for the personal and intimate space to talk to You. Thank you, Father.
Mark 1:35 - "Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed."
Prayer: God, You invited Your Son to pray— early in the morning— so that we can know the power and connection of prayer too. It’s in these moments that my heart is changed, my direction is aligned, and my posture is ready for obedience. Talking with You equips me for whatever is ahead because I know You’re with me— just like Jesus knew You were with Him too. Thank You for loving me even when I’m silent. I love You. Amen.
Mark 10:42-45 - "Jesus called them together and said, '...whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.'"

Thank You for Your loving touch in every aspect of my life.

Give me opportunities to administer Your grace and share Your Truth in both word and deed today. Help me recognize these opportunities as an answer to prayer and obediently serve in whatever way You call me. I will give You the praise for what You do in and through me! In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
John 13:14-15 - "Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you."
PRAYER: Lord, in all aspects of life, You have taught me that the way up is actually down. Conventional wisdom has led me to believe life comes from what I can "get" and yet You remind me that true life comes not from what I "get" but how I "give." I pray that today I may serve those I cross paths with, emptying myself of all my sinful pride so that I can live more like You.
Acts 20:35 - "In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"
PRAYER: Jesus, forgive me for thinking more about myself and less about others in need. Give me a heart of generosity. Thank You for blessing me so that I can freely bless others.

Prayer: Thank You for this reminder today, God. It's so easy for me to work hard to please people when I should be concerned with pleasing You first. It is such an encouragement to know that my hard work can be an act of worship with You as the motivation and the source! Please show me and remind me throughout my day how I can resist working for myself or others and choose to work for You. I know Your power in me can enable me to do just that in the name of Jesus!
Philippians 2:3-5 - "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus."
Prayer: Father God, please forgive me for how I have made my life all about my wants, desire, and feelings. I have failed to see the needs of others around me and to love them well. Father, I know the ground at the foot of the cross is level so give me the ability to love and serve others without restraint. I humbly ask that You give me an opportunity today to serve someone in Your name.
2 Peter 3:18 - "But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen."
Prayer: God, I'm grateful today that Your grace is given and that I'm never done learning about You or growing in the light of Your goodness. Help me see You in the people around me more than I see their failures or shortcomings. I pray that You will get the glory for it all! I love You. Amen.

1 Timothy 4:7b-8 - "train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come."
Prayer: God, in this day of social media, it's all too easy to fall into the enemy's trap of focusing on body appearance and fitness. Please help me be mindful that while I should take care of myself... my spiritual development is infinitely more important. Strengthen me as I train myself to be in Your Word daily, spend time with You in prayer, and listen to Your voice. Thank you for shaping my life and being the perfect example. Amen.

Prayer: God, I'm reminded today in Your Word that the growth I desire in my life comes with a level of intentionality. I know I'm not going to drift into becoming the person I long to be. Help me continually strive to stay connected to Jesus from moment to moment and trust, in faith, His work in my life so I can ultimately become the most loving version of myself possible.
Ephesians 4:22-24 - "You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness."
Prayer: Thank You, Jesus, for saving me from my sin and giving me a new life in You. You have created and called me to live holy and righteous, but I can't do this on my own. Forgive me when I live independent from You, chasing my dreams and sinful desires. Help me to make it a priority to study Your Word every day. Renew my mind and give me the power to overcome my old sin nature so I can live my new life of holiness and righteousness.
Romans 12:2 - "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."
Prayer: God, my mind needs to be renewed! There is just so much trying to pull me down, to keep me focused on this world and everything that distracts me from the abundant life You promise and the purpose You created me for. I know that I need You and the grace You give. Help me to know the will You have for me and the strength to live it out!
