Acts 1:8, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I am so grateful to know You and have You as the Lord of my life! Before You, I was empty, without hope, and searched for meaning in my life! Now, I know that You have created me on purpose, with a purpose... to know You and share this same love with the world! I ask that You give me opportunities today to share this new life that I've found in Jesus with others! I praise You for what You're going to do through me! In Jesus' name, Amen.
Romans 8:38-39, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Prayer: God, I live so many days as if I'm disconnected from Your love. On these days, I try to control and manipulate all areas of my life to get what I want and what I think I need. But Your Word tells me that nothing, absolutely nothing, can come between Your love and me. This changes the way that I see and approach my day, my relationships, and my future. Thank You for loving me more than I could ever know how to love myself. With You, I am loved beyond measure, and I will rest in that today. Amen.
Psalms 36:5,7, "Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies... How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings."
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I find love, purpose, and meaning through You. I can't fathom how great Your love for me is; it's beyond my comprehension. Thank You for being my source of protection and faithfulness. I know I am loved because of how You continue to show me Your unfailing love in every area of my life.
Romans 5:5, "And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us."
Prayer: God, I marvel at You and Your love – You sacrificed Your one and only Son for me, Jesus endured the cross for my sin, and the Holy Spirit pours out Your love to me. This kind of love is difficult for me to comprehend; I don’t deserve it, but I’m so very thankful for it. God, I bow before You this morning... in worship, adoration, and devotion.
Ephesians 3:17-18, "... And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,"
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You. Even though everything else in the world can seem against me and failing me, I can still count on Your unfailing love. I'll never understand how You can love me this much, but I'm so grateful for it every day. I pray that as I continue to be rooted in You, You will help me understand it more and more! And especially help me show it to this world who desperately needs to know it! In Jesus' name, Amen.
Psalms 31:7, "I will be glad and rejoice in your love, for you saw my affliction and knew the anguish of my soul."
Prayer: Dear God, today I rejoice in Your love. I rejoice that Your love is everlasting. I rejoice that Your love is relentless. I rejoice that Your love saw me in my pain, trouble, and anguish and met me with precisely what I needed. I don't deserve a fraction of the love I've received from You, but today I fully embrace it and rejoice in it, knowing it's a transforming gift.
Ephesians 2:4-5, "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved."
Prayer: Father, Your great love for me is beyond understanding! All I can do is thank You for loving me long before I loved You. Thank You for Your amazing grace so rich in mercy that erased my sin and gave me new life in You now and in heaven to come. You have been so very, very gracious to me through both the good and bad times. There is nothing I can do to repay Your marvelous, undeserved grace but praise You with all of my heart! Amen.
John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
Prayer: Thank You, God, for eternal life! This life on Earth is more than I deserve, yet it's only the beginning of my existence with You. Help me live through and in the hope and peace that the eternal perspective brings. Thank You for Your sacrifice that makes it all possible, and help me never to lose the wonder of this truth! Amen.
Ephesians 1:7, "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace."
Prayer: Father God, I praise You for the redemption and forgiveness I have through Christ. I recognize that my sin and failure have kept me from an intimate relationship with You, but I am beyond grateful for Your forgiveness. Lord, help me to live in that forgiveness today and every day by living a life that glorifies You in all things.
2 Corinthians 5:18-19, "All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation."
Prayer: God, Your forgiveness has changed my life. My greatest moments of strength have been marked by Your forgiveness as You've covered me in mercy and loved me just the same. Thank You for Jesus and for demonstrating forgiveness for those who were Your enemies. I can do the same because You did it first. I love You. Amen.
Colossians 1:13-14, "For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."
Prayer: God, You know I have had some dark and low moments of my life. I have had seasons where the weight of my sin and shame has held me captive. But in You, I have experienced freedom and forgiveness. You have brought me out of the darkness and into Your kingdom of love and redemption. With you, God, I know I am forgiven.
Psalm 32:5, "Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, 'I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.' And you forgave the guilt of my sin."
Prayer: God, the more I read Your Word, the more I see how much I need Your forgiveness. In my sin, I rationalize that the small things out of step with Your Word are insignificant. Yet, I know that You see no sin as trivial. Forgive me, God. Help me make being with You a priority so that my thought patterns and actions line up with Your Word. Thank you for replacing my guilt and shame with Your grace and forgiveness.
Ephesians 4:32, "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I am so thankful for Your forgiveness! I can't imagine how You could love me so much, but I am forever grateful that I have this new life. Please help me offer that same kind of love You showed me to those who have hurt me. Please help those I forgive see You in me so that they can ultimately have that same new life through You! In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Colossians 2:13-14, "When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross."
Prayer: I praise You, God, for canceling my debt and forgiving me of all my sin. I praise You for taking all of my mess and nailing it to the cross. Thank You for taking that weight and burden so I no longer carry it. Help me to live in the forgiveness and freedom You have given me!
Psalm 103:11-12, "For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us."
Prayer: Father, thank You for giving me a tiny glimpse of Your vast and limitless love for me. Jesus, thank You for loving me so much. You died to pay the penalty for ALL my sins, past, present, and future. My sins are forever forgiven by Your shed blood! Hallelujah! Father, help me share Your great love with those who cross my path today.
John 15:16, "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you."
Prayer: God, You are so good to me! I don't deserve You, but You have chosen me. And because of this, I experience the gift of bearing meaningful fruit in and through my life. I ask today that You give me opportunities to bear even more fruit so that others will see You and Your goodness. I pray that today will be a day that You choose to use my life to impact my world and wake it up to Jesus - Amen!
Romans 8:28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
Prayer: Father, You knew me before the foundations of the earth, and I take comfort in that. You have had a plan to transform my life to look like Jesus from day one. I trust that because I am Yours that You are using all things to make me like Jesus. This is such good news. Give me faith to trust Your process because I desperately want Your promise of transformation.
1 Peter 2:9, "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."
Prayer: You’ve chosen me under all of the wrong circumstances. I’m unworthy of Your love, but You’ve filled me with light in the darkness and hope in all uncertainty. Only Your love could reach me in the depths of my sin, and only Your love could change me from the inside out. I can live today knowing that my life is different because You chose me first. I love You! Amen.
2 Thessalonians 2:13, "But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth."
Prayer: Heavenly Father, Thank You for not only loving me out of duty or obligation. I know you have chosen me and set me apart. You have saved me and sanctified me. You desire a whole and complete relationship with me. I find my purpose and value in knowing I am chosen by You.
Ephesians 1:4-5, "For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—"
Prayer: God, When the enemy of my soul discourages me and tells me I'm unworthy, I will hold on to Your truth - You created me and chose me for Your purposes. Before my birth and before I encountered a fallen world, You had a plan for my rescue and adoption into your family. Thank you for loving, rescuing, and redeeming me through Your Son, Jesus.
Colossians 3:12, "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience."
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I am so grateful that I have been chosen and adopted as a child of God! I am not my past or what this world says of me; my identity is found in You! Thank You for choosing me and loving me! Please fill me with Your compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience! I choose, in Your strength, to allow Your Spirit to live out these Godly characteristics so others will see You! In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Isaiah 41:9b-10, "…I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Prayer: Heavenly Father, It's been the desire of my heart for as long as I can remember to be loved and accepted. To be fully known and yet also fully loved. Today I'm reminded that I don't have to live in fear or even wonder if I'm enough or wanted. You have chosen me even with my faults and failures, You have chosen to love me to the very depths of my core, and I will live knowing that what I've wanted all along is actually available right here and right now through You.
Psalms 107:2, “Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story— those he redeemed from the hand of the foe,”
Prayer: Thank You, Jesus, for loving me so much; You willingly died on a cross for my sins! When I asked You to forgive me and to come into my life, You saved me. Thank You for giving me a new heart, a new purpose, and for preparing a new home in heaven for me. This is my new story! I am Your ambassador! Show me who needs to hear my salvation story today, and give me the courage to share it.
Psalms 78:35, “They remembered that God was their Rock, that God Most High was their Redeemer.”
Prayer: What a reminder today God! That in spite of the fact that so much around me is uncertain, unstable, and unsure - You are my rock. And not just mine, You are the rock of the world! I pray today that I will rest in that truth so that I will not be shaken. Thank You for redeeming my life for Your glory and my good!
1 Peter 1:18,19, “For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.”
Prayer: Father God, there is nothing more precious, nothing more valuable than the sacrifice Jesus made for me on the cross. It is because of Jesus I have life, purpose, and a future with You. Lord, help me to remember whose I Am. Lord, remind me that all of life finds its purpose in You. Thank You, Lord, for the life You have given me in Jesus.
Job 19:25, “I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth.”
Prayer: God, how precious is my redemption! In it, I get to walk with You, my Redeemer, every day. In You, I know what the future holds as Your word says that You will stand on the earth in the end. You are above all and in all things. You took me from ravished by sin to lavished in grace. In You, I am whole. I give You praise for it today! Amen.
Galatians 3:14, "He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit."
Prayer: God, I know I have been redeemed and made new through Your work in my life. Continue to help me live, talk, and think differently because of how You are changing me. I want to live fully in the promises of who You are and the plans You have for me. I am never going back to living the way I did before I met You!
Lamentations 3:58, “You, Lord, took up my case; you redeemed my life.”
Prayer: Thank You, Father, for being my defender. I can cast off all doubts and fears because You saw my sin, heard my case, judged me, redeemed me, and lifted me out of the darkness. I am in awe of who You are, in all Your greatness and goodness, looking down with grace on me in my broken state. Thank You for the new life I have found in You.
Luke 1:68, “Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come to his people and redeemed them.”
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I do give You praise, and I’m so thankful that You saw me in my brokenness and still chose to redeem me by Your grace through Jesus Christ on the cross!
Now I have new hope, I’m filled with joy, and I want the world to know! Please use this redeemed life to Wake the World to Jesus! In His Name, I pray, Amen.
2 Thessalonians 3:3, "But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one."
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I'm beyond grateful on this day for your protection. While others who have promised to be with me have abandoned me and fallen short on their promises, I know You are forever faithful. So, at this moment, I claim the strength You've promised and offered me.
Psalm 5:11, "But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you."
Prayer: Lord, thank You for being my safe place in times of trouble. With a shout of joy, I praise You for being my Creator, my Savior, my Lord, and my Shepherd. Thank You that I am a child of God. Today, I ask You to spread Your divine protection to my family, my friends, my co-workers, my church, and me. I trust that You will deliver me from any evil that is not in Your will. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Deuteronomy 31:6, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."
Prayer: So often I am afraid, God. I forget that You are with me. My strength and my courage just aren't enough, but You are. Thank You for Your presence and Your strength that helps me overcome. Even though there are so many things to be afraid of, I will embrace Your wisdom and Your truth. You are with me, and I praise You for that!
John 10:27-28, "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand."
Prayer: Father God, I praise You for being my shepherd. Thank You for leading, providing, and protecting me. I praise You God that I have eternal life with You! I praise You that nothing in this world could ever separate me from You! I praise You that there is nothing I could do to separate myself from You! I praise You that I am fully and forever Yours!
Psalm 46:1, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."
Prayer: God, I've seen You protect me from my enemies, danger, and pain. Like David, You are my refuge in scary and unpredictable times. I've also watched You protect me from things that have seemed good at the time but are less than the best that You have planned for me. Your ways are not my ways. Thank You for Your protection that goes before me and prepares a way. I trust You fully today. Amen.
1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."
Prayer: God, You watch over my every thought, action, and word. In every moment of temptation and hardship, You are near and remind me there is a better way. God, protect me from my destructive thoughts and action.
Psalm 23:4, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
Prayer: Heavenly Father, Thank You for always being with me. It seems like the world is falling apart, and honestly, at times, it seems like my world is also falling apart. So much confusion, hurt, loneliness leads me to fear the unknown. But God, Thank You for reminding me that You are near; You comfort and guide me, so I have nothing to fear. Help me change my perspective today to that Truth and not the darkness that surrounds me! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Romans 8:29, "For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters."
Prayer: How do I express my gratitude to You, Father? You were the one who rescued and redeemed me from the wreckage of sin. Thank you for transforming my life. I humbly submit to the Holy Spirit's leading today. Examine my heart for anything that does not bring honor to Your name. May I reflect Jesus to those I meet today.
Ephesians 2:10, "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
Prayer: Father God, it absolutely blows my mind that You, the Creator of the universe, also took the time to create and gift me. Today I want to use the life and the gifts You've so graciously given me to bring glory to Your name. Help me as I go through this day to look for opportunities to serve You and others.
2 Timothy 1:9, "He has saved us and called us to a holy life - not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time."
Prayer: Thank You, Father! You have a plan for my life that I don't deserve. You didn't place me here on this earth by accident. You have saved me by grace and set me apart for Your Holy purposes. I don't want to live my own life and miss out on Your plan. So here I am, Lord. By faith, I'm letting go of my plans and joining You in Your work. Show me where You want me to go and what You want me to do. Give me the faith to say yes and the courage to trust You every step of the way. Amen.
Matthew 5:16, "In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
Prayer: I do have a light to shine! My light is not about me; thank You, God! My light is about who You are and what You have done, are doing, and will do. Help me to set my mind on You today. Help me to do it in such a way that I see the opportunities in front of me to do the good You have called me to do. I pray that my life today results in You receiving glory!
Proverbs 19:21, "Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails."
Prayer: Father God, I recognize that I spend the majority of my time making my plans for my life and then demanding You to bless those plans. Father, forgive me for trying to control everything. Forgive me for the contempt I have had towards You when You did not follow my desires. Lord, at this moment, I need You to lead and take control. I surrender my plans for Your perfect plan. You lead; I will follow.
Matthew 28:19-20, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Prayer: Father, the tasks and events of my day invite me to believe that my purpose is found in achievement, significance, or success. Your word clearly defines my purpose, to "Go and make disciples." God, give me a sound mind to see this opportunity woven into my day and with the people all around me. There is no greater privilege in this life! I love You. Amen.
