In January of 2008, we began a small community garden in partnership with DTE and Gleaners Food Bank. Today we are working in 2 locations hoping to provide as much fresh produce as possible to help those that are looking for healthy food options and in need of food assistance. If you are looking to volunteer and want to make a difference this summer, add the garden to your list by helping many who cannot help themselves.

The purpose of this ministry is to provide a 30” duffel bag for children who are removed from their homes due to abuse/neglect and placed into foster care. The first day of being pulled from their home is understandably very traumatic for these children. They often leave their homes with all of their belongings placed in a black garbage bag – with the unspoken message that they and all of their belongings are no better than trash. The goal of this effort is to provide a child with a nice duffel bag filled with essential items that they can call their own and help provide comfort as they transition. Bags will be collected quarterly throughout the year.
Imagine not having any certainty in where you will sleep tomorrow night. Imagine knowing the only way you've been shown love is through abuse or neglect. This is the life of a foster child. When kids are placed in foster care, there is confusion, anger, fear, and lack of trust with any adult. Royal Family Kids' Camp is a national/international ministry that has been around for 28 years, serving foster kids ages 7-11 to provide a week-long camp of showing God's love, providing positive memories, and giving hope to kids currently in the foster system.
