“Jesus was baptized by immersion... we should be, too.”
Baptism is an outward confirmation of an inward decision—the public demonstration of our faith in Jesus—and the first step the Bible outlines for EVERY believer after trusting Him.
Baptize means “to immerse or dip under water.” The immersion of oneself is an act of obedience, following the example set by Christ during His own baptism (Matthew 3:16). The act does not make you a believer, nor does it “save” you. It simply shows that you have placed your faith in God’s only Son, and remains a symbol of the commitment you have made in your heart.
Our indoor Baptism Service is offered in January.
Every summer we take baptism outside to the Plymouth pond.
