“As soon as Jesus was baptized... (Matthew 3:16)”

Baptize means “to immerse or dip under water.” The immersion of oneself is an act of obedience, following the example set by Christ during His own baptism.

Baptism is an outward confirmation of an inward decision - the public demonstration of our faith in Jesus - and the first step the Bible outlines for EVERY Christ follower after trusting Him. The act does not make you a "believer," nor does it “save” you. It simply shows that you have placed your faith in God’s only Son, and remains a symbol of the commitment you have made in your heart.

Is your child in 3-5 grade? Start here! It is exciting that your child wants to be baptized. It is important that they know the significance of baptism in terms they understand, so we require that they complete our 5-week Starting Point for Kids class before applying for baptism. If your child has completed the class, provide the completion date during the registration process. Does your child need to attend the class? Call 734.233.3651 for information.
