Individual Care Mentor
Individual Care is an effective, short-term approach to getting adults back on track with their lives and relationships. This care is not about giving personal advice, nor is it a substitution for professional counseling. Volunteers simply provide support, next steps and prayer as adults work towards relevant solutions to their current struggles. You will meet 1-6 times with the adult as assigned by the Care Staff.
Interested volunteers are required to complete a one day Individual Care Training on Saturday, April 27th from 9a-2:30p. Participants are also encouraged to take Care Basics, a six-week training course beginning on Thursday, February 28th.
Due to the nature of this volunteer position, you will also be required to go through an application, background check, and interview process. You must be a NorthRidge member or actively pursuing membership to apply.
Marriage Care Mentoring
Marriage Care is hope-focused support for couples dealing with common rough spots in marriage. Volunteers help couples find out what is going well and what isn’t, and understand the “why” as they work towards discovering relevant solutions for their specific situations. Marriage Care volunteers are couples experiencing healthy, Christ-centered marriages. Volunteers will meet 1-6 times with the couple needing care.
Interested volunteers are required to complete a one day Marriage Care Training on Saturday, March 2, and are encouraged to take Care BASICS, a six-week training course beginning Thursday, February 28th.
Due to the nature of this volunteer position, you will also be required to go through an application, background check, and interview process. You must be a NorthRidge member or actively pursuing membership to apply.
Pre-Marriage Mentors
Mentor an engaged couple on topics addressed in the book: “Preparing for Marriage” by Dennis Rainey. Mentors are married couples in healthy relationships seeking to help engaged couples prepare for a marriage that lasts a lifetime! Volunteers will meet with the couple for 6 appointments prior to their wedding date followed by quarterly appointments as needed/requested.
Prospective volunteers are asked to complete a one day Pre-Marriage Care Training on Saturday, February 16th from 9a-2:30p. Volunteers are also encouraged to take the Care BASICS training course. This 6 week training begins on Thursday, February 28th.
Because of the nature of this volunteer position an application, background check, and interview are required. You must also be a NorthRidge Member (or pursuing membership).
SpringHill Day Camp Host Home Volunteer
SpringHill needs your help in housing their fun, kid-friendly college-aged summer staff for the week that they are at NorthRidge! They’d prefer to keep 3-5 staff together at each home. Host homes will provide a simple breakfast every morning (think cold cereal and granola bars…) and two dinners during the week. Your guests will even provide their own transportation!
SpringHill Day Camp Medical Volunteer
Are you a nurse, paramedic, EMT, or have other medical training? We are looking for volunteers that can provide medical attention to our day campers when needed. We’d love to have you volunteer Monday-Friday from 9a-4p, but hours and days can be flexible.

SpringHill Day Camp Monday Morning Check-In Volunteer
Want a short time commitment? It’s the first day of camp and we need your help in registering campers as quickly as possible. This is a very short time commitment, but has a huge impact as it begins the camp experience for each child. We will need your help from 8:15 – 9:30a on the opening day of camp.

Like to throw parties? On Tuesday, July 9th and Thursday, July 11th, the SpringHill Day Camp Staff will gather together for worship, dinner, and fun! We’re looking for families with BIG backyards to host our well behaved and polite day camp staff. The gatherings usually last from 6:00-9:30p.

Like to cook and entertain? You can help by providing and serving lunch for SpringHill Staff one afternoon out of the week. Velocity Small Group Leader
We are seeking caring and energetic adults to lead small groups of high school students towards Jesus! Your primary goal is to build relationships that point students to Jesus and you have the opportunity to encourage discussions about life and how God plays a role in it.

Choir
The Choir is a group of passionate worshipers who perform at various baptism, communion and weekend services as well as at Christmas and Easter productions. We meet every Sunday (Sept-Dec/Jan-May) in the Activity Center at NorthRidge Plymouth for rehearsals. NorthRidge Members from the satellite campuses are welcome to join the choir, however, we rehearse and perform primarily at the Plymouth campus.
Church Online Room Host
NorthRidge has launched an online campus with the purpose of reaching into the internet to lead people to a life of faith in Christ and then on the journey to full devotion; one life at a time! During every online service, our guests can connect with us via a chat feature. As a Room Host, you will engage these conversations and connect with people through this unique worship experience.
Community Care Annual Food Drive
This church wide event helps to fill several local food pantries as well as stock our own gift card program for regular attendees of NorthRidge who are experiencing financial hardships. Volunteers are needed for collecting and sorting food and loading trucks at all three NorthRigde locations. The Food Drive takes place once yearly in the spring.
Community Care Helping Hands
Volunteers provide minor home and car repairs for families in our church with limited resources. If you’d be willing to donate your time to assist others, we can use your hands and heart. Volunteering is based on your availability and type of experience.
Community Care Homebound Ministry
Volunteers are needed to help extend the love, comfort and compassion of Christ to those in our church family who are temporarily or permanently homebound. Opportunities include home visitation and letter writing.
Community Care Hospital Visitation
Volunteers are needed to visit people who are part of our NorthRidge family when they are hospitalized. We provide encouragement, personal support and prayer. Generally, volunteers are assigned to visit hospitals close to their residence once an individual is admitted. This is a great way to show God’s love to others and to their families as well.
Creative Arts Audio Operators
If you enjoy listening to the details and nuances of sound, give our Audio Team a try! Audio Operators run the sound board during our satellite services, making sure everything sounds just right! This opportunity is at Ann Arbor-Saline or Brighton-Howell only.
Creative Arts Audio Team
Do you enjoy listening to the details of music – which instruments and vocals are more featured than others? Would you love to learn how to run and mix music to create a relational experience in worship? Then the Audio Team may be for you! No prior knowledge is necessary. Training is provided.
Creative Arts Costume Team
The Costume Team’s goal is to form a “serving small group” that works and celebrates together at various times throughout the year. It’s the volunteers that make the Costume Team an organized, authentic and amazing ministry! We are looking for people with all levels of costuming skills including organization and administration, as well as sewing and design. Costuming needs increase during The Glory of Christmas and Easter service rehearsals and performances.
Creative Arts Dance Team
The Dance Team has the opportunity to dance in weekend services and during the Glory of Christmas production. We rehearse at the Plymouth campus and perform at all three campuses. This is your opportunity to volunteer for a team that takes the talents God gave you to the next level! You must be 14 or older to audition. Creative Arts Drama Team
The Drama Team is perfect for those who love to act and are comfortable in front of large audiences. Volunteers on this team perform short sketches during weekend services and also act out a full Broadway-style production each Christmas season. Rehearsals take place at NorthRidge Plymouth, but there may be occasional opportunities to perform at other campuses. You can audition anytime during the year for the general team. The Glory of Christmas production auditions usually take place early in the fall.
Creative Arts Lighting Operator
Do you prefer color over black and white? If so, check out the Lighting Team! As an operator you will have the opportunity to create and run lighting elements that enhance the worship experience during our satellite services. This opportunity is at Ann Arbor-Saline or Brighton-Howell only.
Creative Arts Lighting Team
Do you engage in worship through creative elements that catch your eye? So do we! The Lighting Team uses various lighting tools to help attendees and guests engage with God through high impact production. Does this sound intriguing but intimidating? Don’t worry! We will teach you some of our expertise!
Creative Arts Live Video Production
Be part of the technical team responsible for all visual aspects of weekend services. Serving opportunities include camera operator, graphics operator, assistant director and many more. Creative Arts Makeup Team
Are you a makeup artist or perhaps a cosmetic enthusiast? Being a part of the Makeup Team allows you to use your creative talents as you prep our performers for The Glory of Christmas production, Easter services and occasional special services throughout the year. This includes setting up and disassembling the makeup room.
Creative Arts Set Fabrication Team
Our Set Fabrication Team is for those who enjoy building, designing and creating fully operational theatrical quality stage sets and props for our services and events. Building takes place at an off-site facility. Scheduling is communicated through email and varies from week to week based on build requirements as defined by our set designer.
Creative Arts Stage Crew
Have you ever longed to be so stealth, so smooth and yet so impactful that others wonder: How did that get there? Or even, how did that disappear? You don’t have to wonder any longer! If you have any interest in “backstage” at NorthRidge, now is your chance! NorthRidge Black Ops (a.k.a Stage Crew) is looking for volunteers. And yes, you get to wear those stylish black outfits that guarantee your invisibility during service!

If you are an early riser with a heart to serve, we want you! Our Stage Setup team prepares all technical and creative aspects of our satellite campus stage sets. They arrive in the morning and make sure the stage is looking its best by the start of service! No special experience required. If you can unwind a cable – we can train you on the rest!
Creative Arts Stage Teardown Team
Looking for an easy, quick way to volunteer and get to know some awesome people? If you have just one hour to spare on Sundays, we’ve got an opportunity for you! The Teardown Team helps deconstruct the stage and put away equipment after services at our satellite campuses.

If you are passionate about video arts and technology and enjoy leading a team of people, then you’ll love being a Video Director! This individual directs all video aspects of our satellite services. Join us as we experience God through serving!

Discover NorthRidge is a class we offer for anyone wanting to learn the vision, purpose, values, ministries, and everything in between, at NorthRidge. Our Events Team makes sure each guest has an enjoyable experience at the class. They greet and check-in participants, serve food, direct participants during breaks, and cleanup after the class ends. This is a perfect opportunity for someone with a limited schedule! The next Discover NorthRidge is Friday, February 22, 2013.
Discovery Island Creative Drama and Teaching Team
This team teaches kids (2yrs – 5th Grade) biblical stories and lessons through multiple creative mediums (e.g. drama, music, puppets, etc.). If you’re an energetic, fun-loving adult with a passion for teaching God’s truths to kids, why not join the team? We’d love to have you! We have immediate needs at the Ann Arbor-Saline campus.
Discovery Island Creative Props and Staging
Create the costumes, sets and props that help the drama and teaching volunteers portray the Bible creatively to kids in Discovery Island! All materials are provided – you need only bring your skills and desire to serve!
Discovery Island Elevate Small Group Leader
As a Small Group Leader, you’ll be a direct part of life-change as you build relationships with a small group of 4th or 5th grade children. You’ll help your group apply biblical principles to their everyday lives via lessons and activities. Small Group Leaders also have the unique opportunity to pray for and with the children in their group.
Discovery Island K/1 Small Group Leader
You can help make Discovery Island the best hour of a child’s week! You will build relationships with a small group of kindergarten or 1st grade children, helping them apply biblical principles to their everyday lives. You’ll oversee crafts, sit with your group during the Large Group lesson and pray with and for the children in your group.
Our most immediate need is during the 5:00p Saturday service at Plymouth, but we welcome new leaders at all campuses!
Discovery Island Nursery Shepherd
Nursery volunteers provide a warm and caring environment for children 6 weeks through 2.5 years of age. Each of our nursery rooms cater to a specific age group with appropriate developmental toys and activities. Not only will you be ministering to our littlest attendees, but you’ll be ministering to their families, too, as mommy and daddy enjoy a service! Orientation provided.
Discovery Island Preschool Small Group Leader
Preschool is a perfect time to start teaching basic Biblical principles to children, helping them understand God’s love and forgiveness through Jesus. As a Small Group Leader, you get to instill God’s love by building relationships with a small group of preschool aged children. You will also oversee crafts, sit with your group during the Large Group lesson, and pray with and for the children in your group.

On the Registration Team, you’ll help children feel welcome, and parents feel confident that their children are in good hands! Discovery Island Resource Team
This critical team ensures that each area of Discovery Island has all of the supplies needed to run children’s programming with excellence. They prepare crafts and activities, stock room supplies, and are available during service hours to resource Discovery Island teams with extra supplies. This is a perfect volunteer position for anyone looking for short weekday commitments, or behind-the-scenes weekend opportunities.
Discovery Island Room Support
Be part of a team that provides support to Small Group Leaders and Coaches! Room Support volunteers assign kids (2yrs-5th grade) to their Small Group, setup for craft time, take kids to the restroom and generally help make it the best 90 minutes of a kid’s week! Orientation provided.
Discovery Island Special Needs Partner
Discovery Island believes that each child is unique and must be treated as a precious gift from God. We always endeavor to meet the special needs of each child and have developed a program specifically for children who need individualized care and attention. As a Special Needs Partner, you will come alongside a child with developmental challenges to provide the extra support they need to participate more fully in Discovery Island programs. Orientation and training provided.
Discovery Island Tech Team
Tech volunteers use audio, video and computers to enhance the Bible lessons during the children’s Large Group time. Volunteers should be familiar with computers and Pro-Presenter programs. Orientation provided.
DivorceCare 4 Kids Co-Facilitator
Do you have a passion to provide care and encouragement to kids who are experiencing difficult challenges in life? As a co-facilitator you will join our DC4K team and come alongside kids, ages 8-12, helping them deal with divorce in their families. A Christian curriculum and training are provided.
Epic Adult Mentors
Epic is our ministry for 18-25 year olds. We recognize that this age group needs people who have already experienced what they’re going through – college, moving out, first “real job,” independence – to help guide them through these years that potentially shape the rest of their lives. That’s where you come in! If you have a passion for the college-age person and want to get involved and learn more about becoming a mentor, sign up below and we’ll send you the mentor application. Facilities Boardwalk Cleaning
Boardwalk Cleaners help insure our Nursery/Preschool area is clean and safe for our youngest attendees by vacuuming, disinfecting tables, emptying trash, and cleaning windows.
Facilities Restroom Attendant
Restroom Attendants sweep, stock paper supplies, dry counters and mirrors, and empty trash during and between services. This is when our restrooms get used the most, and cleaning up is a great way to show guests how much our church cares for them!
Facilities Saturday Night Clean-up
After Saturday evening services at NorthRidge, the building has to be cleaned-up and prepared for Sunday morning. This team is perfect for “night owls” who don’t mind staying an extra hour or two after service! Sweeping, mopping and garbage removal are a few of the tasks.
Financial Coach
Financial Coaches meet one-on-one with either couples or individuals to help guide them through personal financial budgeting. We are looking for volunteers that have a heart to teach Biblical financial principles. If you are interested in learning more or joining the team of coaches, sign up below.
Financial Peace University Check-in Team
If you have a warm smile and a welcoming attitude, we’d love to have you join the FPU Check-in Team. These volunteers make sure FPU attendees are greeted, checked-in and pointed in the right direction. Training is provided.
Financial Peace University Table Host
A Table Host is assigned a table group with 8-10 people at the FPU class. Table Hosts help facilitate discussion and keep the group motivated to complete their financial goals! Food Services Cafe Team
For those who love coffee and people, here’s your chance to help guests feel at home! Café volunteers prepare coffee and beverages, serve snacks, cashier, and clean-up…with a smile! Training is provided. We currently need volunteers at the Ann Arbor-Saline and Brighton-Howell campuses on Sunday mornings.

This team makes sure there is always fresh, piping hot coffee ready to be served in the Common Grounds Cafe and at the Common Grounds Express kiosks. Training provided.
Food Services Common Grill Team
Before our monthly New Life services we provide a food court style dinner called the Common Grill. We feature pizza, pasta, salad bar, and more! Volunteers prepare the food stations and serve food at the stations during dinner.

This behind-the-scenes opportunity is perfect for anyone with an eye for detail and a servant’s heart! Dishwashers wash trays, serving utensils and cookware during our Common Grill Dinners.
Guest Services Connections Team
Do you love helping people feel welcome in a new environment? The Connections Team is designated for welcoming and providing information to first-time guests. They also help guests find their way around the NorthRidge campus.
Guest Services First Aid Team
Our First Aid Team provides basic first aid to our guests. This can include providing bandages and ice packs for scrapes and bruises, or providing basic care until EMS can arrive in the event of an emergency. Medical background required ( i.e. Doctors, Nurses, Paramedics, First Responders, etc.).
Guest Services Parking Team
Our Parking Team is the “first and last face” of NorthRidge. They help our guests come and go as efficiently as possible, making every church visit a pleasurable one! If you can smile, wave, and maintain a positive attitude rain or shine, then you’re a perfect fit for this team!
Guest Services Security Team
The Security Team ensures each of our campuses is a safe and secure environment. New volunteers will go through an application process and a minimum of 4 weeks of training provided by the team leaders.

Media Services Team
The CDs and DVDs of NorthRidge services are recorded, duplicated, and packaged by the Media Services Team then made available for purchase in the Resource Center. Often these CDs and DVDs are given to family and friends that may not attend NorthRidge. If you want to impact lives inside and outside of the church, this is just the opportunity for you! Technical experience is not required. Training is provided.
Orchestra
We are seeking individuals that play brass, woodwinds, or stringed instruments with college proficiency. Resource Center Attendant
Resource Center Attendants provide a helping hand to those seeking resource materials for their spiritual journey. Team members assist customers with their selection of Bibles, small group materials, books for spiritual growth, and special gift items. Training is provided for our user-friendly point-of-sale system. We are currently seeking volunteers for the Ann Arbor-Saline and Brighton-Howell campuses.
RustProof “In-Home Group” Host Home
We are looking for warm, welcoming, and safe homes for our RustProof In-Home Groups to meet at this fall. Hosts will open their home on the specified night to either a group of middle school boys or girls and their group leaders. Groups have approximately 8-12 students each. We are also asking that the Host Home provide a light snack each week for the group. Our preference is to find homes of families associated with our ministry, but we are willing to consider other homes. (Ann Arbor-Saline & Brighton-Howell Areas Only)
RustProof Parent Volunteer
Parents of middle school students volunteer during the first 45 minutes of RustProof in the registration, cafe and tech areas. This frees up our Small Group Leaders to hangout with and invest in the lives of each student.
RustProof Registration Ninja
Are you energetic? Is smiling one of your hobbies? If so, check this out! A Registration Ninja is an awesome person with the special ability to make middle school students feel welcome. Your main role will be greeting and checking-in students using our registration system. Training is provided.
RustProof Small Group Leader
RustProof (Middle School Ministry) is a relational environment where students can make new friends, have a ton of fun and learn about a God who loves them! We are looking for adult volunteers who have a passion for positively impacting middle school students. This is your front row seat to life-change! As a leader you will circle up with a small group of students and lead them through biblical discussions on what it means to follow Jesus.
RustProof Sweets Team
Who doesn’t love candy? Especially middle school students!!! The Sweets Team helps run our RustProof Cafe, selling sweet treats with a smile!
RustProof Tech/Program Director
Experience volunteering in RustProof like never before! The Tech/Program director is in charge of coordinating, organizing and producing the technical and creative elements during weekend RustProof services. Some technical know-how as well as organizational skills and a sense of humor are preferred!
Satellite Campus Logistics
The Logistics Team is the backbone to our satellites. These volunteers unload cases of portable church equipment and setup tables, chairs and signs. They also help tear down after the service. This is a great serving opportunity for individuals, families, or Small Groups in the Ann Arbor-Saline and Brighton-Howell communities!
Small Group Leader
Do you love to help people connect to God and others? Then Small Groups may be the place for you! Leaders facilitate discussion and enhance connectedness of group members. You don’t have to be a Bible expert, you just have to love people and have a desire to learn and grow with them. Training is required.
Small Groups Tech Team
Small Group Tech Team volunteers support Small Group events like Get Small, conferences, and other leader training opportunities. If you are tech savvy, we’d love to have your help running audio, video, and computer presentations! Training is provided.
Soloist
Do you have a passion for singing and glorifying God with your voice? If so, we would love to have you audition for soloist opportunities for our services and events. SpringHill Day Camp Host Home Volunteer
SpringHill needs your help in housing their fun, kid-friendly college-aged summer staff for the week that they are at NorthRidge! They’d prefer to keep 3-5 staff together at each home. Host homes will provide a simple breakfast every morning (think cold cereal and granola bars…) and two dinners during the week. Your guests will even provide their own transportation!
SpringHill Day Camp Medical Volunteer
Are you a nurse, paramedic, EMT, or have other medical training? We are looking for volunteers that can provide medical attention to our day campers when needed. We’d love to have you volunteer Monday-Friday from 9a-4p, but hours and days can be flexible.

SpringHill Day Camp Monday Morning Check-In Volunteer
Want a short time commitment? It’s the first day of camp and we need your help in registering campers as quickly as possible. This is a very short time commitment, but has a huge impact as it begins the camp experience for each child. We will need your help from 8:15 – 9:30a on the opening day of camp.
SpringHill Day Camp Staff Gathering Host
Like to throw parties? On Tuesday, July 9th and Thursday, July 11th, the SpringHill Day Camp Staff will gather together for worship, dinner, and fun! We’re looking for families with BIG backyards to host our well behaved and polite day camp staff. The gatherings usually last from 6:00-9:30p.

Like to cook and entertain? You can help by providing and serving lunch for SpringHill Staff one afternoon out of the week. It’s a great way to thank the wonderful camp counselors that love on our kids all week! This opportunity is also great for involving friends, neighbors, other families, and small groups.

Student Ministries Special Needs Partner
Partner with a student with developmental challenges to provide the extra support s/he needs to participate more fully in Student Ministries activities. Orientation and training provided.
Support/Recovery Group Facilitator
We are looking for volunteers who have a heart to help others. Facilitators come alongside people who are hurting and facing challenging times and offer care in a support group setting. Facilitators promote healthy group discussion, creating a safe atmosphere for individual growth and development. You will be required to complete Care Basics Training and the LifeShare/LifeSkills Specialty Training; both are six-week experiential learning segments.

Velocity Ministry Team
Velocity is a fun-filled and God-centered weekly meeting space for high school students. Volunteers are needed for leading small groups, serving in the cafe area, helping with check-in, or running the tech booth. If you are a caring adult who loves God and wants to positively impact students, then join the fun and partner with our Velocity Ministry Team!
Wedding Host/Hostess
Work alongside our Wedding Coordinator to help setup & teardown wedding decor. You will also assist the bride, groom and their families with general wedding day support. A fun way to reach out to NorthRidge families! Wedding Hosts volunteer for approximately 5-8 weddings per year.
Women’s Ministry Event Prep Team
Women’s Ministry holds several exciting women’s events every year. If you love to plan events with other ladies, we’d love to have you join this team. (Ladies Only!)
Women’s Ministry MOPPET Team
MOPPET volunteers care for children between ages of infancy and five years old while their mommies attend MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers). This opportunity allows you to serve the moms of NorthRidge so they can receive a little break! MOPS meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday mornings of each month.
Women’s Ministry On-Campus Small Group Leader
As a group leader you will not only help facilitate discussion during Bible studies, but you will also have the opportunity to “do life” with other women as you connect and spend time together. (Ladies Only!)

Are you an experienced musician with the ability to play electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, keys, drums, mandolin, banjo, or harmonica? If so, we invite you to audition to be a part of the Worship Band that performs worship and special music during services and events. This is an opportunity for you to use your musical abilities to glorify God and lead others in worshiping Him!
