Financial Assistance

In our church family, we know there are many individuals and families facing financial hardship given our current economy. Often families cannot make ends meet, which makes it difficult to handle today let alone plan for the future.

The Financial Assistance Ministry seeks to support and encourage those in need by connecting them with resources both inside and outside of our church community. Our Community Care Staff will work with individuals, helping them to develop a plan that will not just meet their immediate needs but help them plan for the future. If you are a NorthRidge Member or Regular Attender and would like to receive Financial Assistance, please click here.

If you have any questions you can contact us by phone at 734.414.7777 and ask for the Community Care Office.

For those interested in scheduling an appointment for help with budget planning and the like, please contact us by phone at 734.414.7777 – ask for the Stewardship office.

Our Homebound Ministry is designed to extend the love, comfort, and compassion of Jesus Christ to those in our church family who are temporarily or permanently homebound. This is a volunteer driven ministry that connects homebound individuals with volunteers that provide visits, phone calls, & cards and letters of encouragement.

Because people matter to God and therefore matter to His church, we want members who are confined to their homes to know that they are still an integral part of the NorthRidge Church family. If you have a loved one that would like to receive our Homebound services, a ministry volunteer would love the opportunity to build a one-to-one friendship with them.

The purpose of the Grief group is to help those who are grieving the physical death of a loved one. Losses of various sorts and degrees are always experienced in life and yet the coping skills to deal with those losses may not have adequately been taught to us. Grieving requires feeling, sharing the loss and feelings with another, being accepted and then releasing them to the Lord at several levels before it can be adequately healed. Come and join in this group to find care and encouragement from others as you go through this difficult time.

Please purchase the Workbook “GriefShare” – available in the LifeMatters Resource Center – for the group discussion.

Infant Loss

When the anticipation of your child’s birth turns into the grief of miscarriage, tubal pregnancy, stillbirth, or early infant death, no words on earth can ease your pain and loss. But there is strength and encouragement in the wisdom of others who have been there and in God’s comfort that is real.

This group will encourage you along your healing journey. With the help of the devotional book, “Grieving the Child I Never Knew,” the author offers comfort and reassurance of God’s presence as you grieve the loss of a child you never got to know. You will be able to grieve honestly, share with others and present your hurts before God and begin receiving the healing that He alone can give.

All adult family members are welcome to attend – parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles, etc.

Infertility Support

Have you experienced the heartache and disappointment of infertility or the pain of loss through miscarriage or failed adoptions? Join others and be encouraged as you share with one another and find support together through discussion and study of “Hannah’s Hope: Seeking God’s Heart in the Midst of Infertility, Miscarriage and Adoption Loss” by Jennifer Saake.

Hannah’s heart beat with a mother’s love long before she was blessed with a child. Through the years of waiting and longing, her gentle heart was nearly crushed under the weight of grief. You can meet Hannah in the pages of 1 Samuel, chapters 1 and 2. The Bible says she was “barren,” and we know she suffered heartache, anguish, and grief because of her empty arms. Perhaps you do too. Hannah’s Hope is for all who long for a child yet to be conceived, grieve for a baby too soon passed from the womb, or have lived through the no-man’s-land of failed adoption. It is intended as a guide to assist you in making wise decisions as you struggle through your grief. And by the end of the journey, God may surprise you by the ways He uses to answer your heart’s cry. Compassionately written by a woman who knows well these painful struggles, Hannah’s Hope will direct you to the Source of strength, whose name is “the God of all comfort.”

Childcare is provided for ages infant through age 12.

Men’s Integrity

The Men’s Recovery Group is a Christ-centered support group for men seeking recovery from a variety of issues. This may include relationship difficulties, pornography addiction, lust and possibly compulsive sexual behaviors. The cornerstone for our recovery is the power and love of Jesus Christ. We recognize that without a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we would not have the ability to overcome our hurts, hang-ups and habits.

Our recovery “house” is built upon the fellowship of the group, having a safe place to share our struggles, pain, and victories, the accountability of the group, and the mutual support of group members throughout the week.

Materials used in this group for discussion are the book and workbook “At the Altar of Sexual Idolatry” by Steven Gallagher. These are available for you to purchase in our bookstore.

Support group for spouses: If you are the wife/partner of someone struggling with sexual addiction, we encourage you to attend our Beyond Betrayal group. It meets on Mondays at 7p in conjunction with the men’s group and your spouse will find great support from others at this group.

Sexual Abuse

“SHOUT” – Sharing Hearts Openly Understanding Truth – is a Christ-centered group for women in recovery from past sexual abuse/trauma.

We respect and acknowledge each woman’s right to be where she needs to be on her own road to recovery. We acknowledge the sensitivity we need to have for each member of this group so we must remember that “What we hear, let it stay here.” In SHOUT groups, telling ourselves the truth about the sexual abuse in a safe setting is an essential step toward believing that the Lord will guide us to further understanding, healing and wholeness. The process of healing is most effective for those who have a strong support system.

Materials used: “On the Threshold of Hope” and “Shelter from the Storm” and are available in our LifeMatters Resource Center. Interview & Registration required prior to attending contact below or call 734.233.3703

Victorious Women

“Reclaiming Your Heart” by Denise Hildreth Jones

Have you ever…
*said, “Those were the best years of my life?”
*believed that your past disqualified you for your future?
*thought one more car (or one more house or one more piece of cake) would fulfill you?
*wondered where the abundant life Scripture promises is and how you seem to have missed it?

If so, this group study is for you!

A failed relationship, a health crisis, a job loss, the death of a loved one–all can cause us to hide out, go numb, give up. Before we even know it, we’re simply coping with life instead of living it to the fullest. For the author and Bible study teacher, Denise Hildreth Jones, it happened in the wake of her devastating divorce. But she fought desperately to reclaim her God-designed heart, and now, in her transparent, authentic style, she challenges you to do the same. Denise will help you identify ways you’ve given your heart to “lesser gods” like performance, people pleasing, and control, and how to find your way back to God’s design for your life- laughing loving, and living life to the fullest.

Please purchase a study guide, “Reclaiming Your Heart” in the Resource Center bookstore that will be used in the group discussion. You can join this group at any time and start living your life the way God created it to be!

“Taking Responsibility for your Life: Because Nobody Else Will” – Andy Stanley

Responsibilities. We all have them. But we don’t all take them as seriously as we ought to.

Wouldn’t it be great, though, if we all took responsibility for the things we are responsible for? It’s time to stop finger-pointing and excuse-making and to remove the “ir” in “irresponsible.” In this 4-session study, Andy Stanley shows you how to take authentic responsibility for the things in your life.

Topics covered:
*Let the Blames Begin
*The Disproportionate Life
*This is No Time to Pray
*Embracing Your Response Ability

When to say “yes’ and how to say “no” to take control of your life. Are you in control of your life? Do people take advantage of you? Do you have trouble saying no? Christians often focus so much on being loving and giving that they forget their own limits and limitations. Have you ever found yourself wondering:

  • Can I set limits and still be a loving person?
  • How do I answer someone who wants my time, love, energy, or money?
  • Why do I feel guilty when I consider setting boundaries?

This group is all about helping depression and anxiety sufferers to take action and use their trials to live victorious and fruitful lives. It can be done.
